Tom has been running a monthly quiz night at his local pub in South London for four years. What started as filling in for a friend who cancelled became a regular gig — then a genuine obsession with what makes a quiz question work.

He joined the SimplyQuizzes Quiz Desk to write the questions he actually wants to be asked: sport (football, cricket, tennis, anything with a scoreline), music, British history, and whatever happens to be in the news that week. He has strong opinions about the correct difficulty curve for a quiz night and is not afraid to share them.

Tom's one rule: a question that doesn't teach you something when you see the answer isn't worth asking.
